Day 5: This route heads north along the gorgeous Pacific coastline from Cambria up to Ragged Point. The ride includes a stop at Elephant Seal Vista Point.

Begin this ride from Shamel Park in Cambria.

Head north on Moonstone Beach Dr. Enjoy the views!

Continue north on CA-1 N.

CA-1 N continues to San Simeon on flat to rolling terrain along the coastline with terrific ocean views to the west and mountain views to the east!

CA-1 N continues along with glorious views of the coastal landscape.

CA-1 eventually opens up to the expansive sight of the coastal hills and mountains of Santa Lucia range.

The climb up to Ragged Point is about 1.4 miles with gradient ranges of 5-7.5% with no shoulder.

Take a quick walk along the garden behind Ragged Point Inn to take in the magnificent views of the rugged coastal shoreline-it’s worth the time!

Turn around and return south on CA-1. With swift NW winds, it’s a quick 9-mile roll along the coast towards Piedras Blancas Light Station. Enjoy the fabulous scenery!

It’s another quick 1.5 miles to the next stop at Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery to check out the seals lying out on the beach.

Continue south for another 10.1 glorious flat miles for the return on Moonstone Beach Dr to Shamel Park.

This is a spectacular ride along the gorgeous Pacific coastline up to Ragged Point. The panoramic vistas are absolutely stunning! On the return, stop and view the elephant seals, they’re quite the sight to see!
