Solvang Spring Break 2013

DSCN4119

Michael and I spent a week in the quaint Danish town of Solvang for 6 glorious days of riding around the gorgeous Wine Country of Santa Barbara County. This region offers miles and miles of cycling on quiet scenic back roads throughout the Santa Ynez Valley. You’ll ride through areas full of beautiful wineries, acres of vineyards and horse ranches with minimal to no traffic.

The weather was fabulous during our week-long stay with temps ranging from the low 50’s to the high 70’s. The prevailing wind directions are from the west and usually kicks up in the afternoon.

We stayed at the Kronborg Inn on the western edge of Solvang. The non-smoking room was comfortable and clean. They serve a complimentary breakfast which includes Belgian waffles, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, cereals, oatmeal and bread along with hot coffee and tea; it’s both convenient and economical.

Spring is a wonderful time to enjoy the views of the rolling green hills and mountains along with the spectacular sights of wildflowers blanketing its slopes. Get on out there and enjoy the beauty of it all!
