I use these phrases and quotes to guide me daily, when my mind slips, they help me get back on the right path to conscious living and making the right choices in my life.
——————————————————————————————————————–

I am an optimist.

Life is always subject to change, be flexible.

Choose to put health and quality of life before work and seek balance. Wake up to the fact that it’s important to live your values and spend your days doing things that matter.

You cannot find happiness by making it your goal. Happiness is the unintended benefit of pursuing personal dreams and living true to your self. A deep sense of fulfillment will emerge when you proactively connect the person you are with the things that you choose to do. ~Life Wisdom

I am grateful for what I am and have. O how I laugh when I think of my vague indefinite riches. No run on my bank can drain it, for my wealth is not possession but enjoyment.

Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Appreciate your friends. Continue to learn. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

If you care about something you have to protect it – If you’re lucky enough to find a way of life you love, you have to find the courage to live it.

This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over analyzing, life is simple. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once; seize them. Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them, so go out and start creating. Live your dream, and wear your passion. Life is short

Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

Listen to advice and accept instruction.

Always ask for help when you need it.

Ride for those who can’t.

To know the road ahead, ask those coming back.

Try to observe what’s going on around you, read the signs and get the message.

Learn to accept and celebrate your failures along with your successes.

Be kind, be generous, be thankful, be responsible, have respect, have courtesy, have a sense of humor and humility.

Decide, Commit and Succeed!

Say, Affirm and Claim!

Focus on what you need to do to get to where you want to be.

Expect nothing, be prepared for everything.

It’s too easy to become bigger than what we think we are; check yourself and never forget your own humble beginnings.

Maintain a good moral compass which has certain fairness and certain rules. Never lose sight of where you come from-that’s pretty important.

If you can’t do anything about it, laugh like hell.

Don’t compete-find what’s uniquely yours.

Transform yourself and yet quietly do it, elegantly do it.

Become more present with your surroundings; take in the sights, sounds and smells of wherever the bike takes you.

It’s up to us to slow down and seek out the beauty that can be found everywhere.

Life is short. Stop and smell the roses! Check out whatever catches your eye.

Don’t forget to just simply enjoy being on the bike and ride!

Why not? Why wait? It’s never too late!

It’s okay to say “No”, it only means you’re saying “Yes” to yourself.

Don’t complain about something if you’re not willing to step up and take action to make the change happen.

Work on not becoming “that person” that everyone wants to avoid and not be around.

Have a slice of humble pie now and then so that you don’t forget what it taste like.

See everything; overlook a great deal; correct a little.

Forgive those who trespass against us.

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

Life belongs to the living, and he who lives must be prepared for changes.

Fresh activity is the only means of overcoming adversity.

Common sense is the genius of humanity.

Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast – you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.

You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude
toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather
than allowing it to master you.

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again. ~The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that! I’m always gonna love you, no matter what. No matter what happens. You’re my son and you’re my blood. You’re the best thing in my life. But until you start believing in yourself, you ain’t gonna have a life.
~Rocky Balboa

What I want is so simple I almost can’t say it: elementary kindness.

I hear, I know. I see, I remember. I do, I understand.

At the moment of commitment, the universe conspires to assist you.

To be wronged is nothing unless you continue to remember it.

When you are laboring for others let it be with the same zeal as if it were for
yourself.

Beauty is everywhere a welcome guest.

The only Zen you find on tops of mountains is the Zen you bring up there.

It’s never too late to be what you might have been.

People who know little are usually great talkers, while men who know much say little.

Everything around us is made up of energy. To attract positive things in your life, start by giving off positive energy.

What you do speaks so loud that I cannot hear what you say.

Today I live in the quiet, joyous expectation of good.

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.

I may not be there yet, but I’m closer than I was yesterday.

A healthy attitude is contagious, but don’t wait to catch it from others. Be a carrier.

The road to success is always under construction.

Positive attitudes create a chain reaction of positive thoughts.

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead. Today and tomorrow are yet to be said. The chances, the changes are all yours to make. The mold of your life is in your hands to break.

Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss.

At this point in my life, riding my bike is the basis of my existence.

You think you know your possibilities. Then other people come into your life and suddenly there are so many more.

Getting what you want is just as difficult as not getting what you want. Because then you have to figure out what to do with it, instead of figuring out how to do without it.

Reality is harsh. It can be cruel and ugly. Yet no matter how much we grieve over our environment and circumstances nothing will change. What is important is not to be defeated, to forge ahead bravely. If we do this, a path will open before us.

For each of us eventually whether we’re ready or not someday it will come to an end. There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days. All the things you collected whether treasured or forgotten will pass to someone else. Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what you owned or owed, your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear. So too your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire. The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away. It won’t matter where you came from or on what side of the tracks you lived at the end. It won’t matter if you’re beautiful or brilliant. Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant. So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured? What will matter is not what you bought but what you built, not what you got, but what you gave. What will matter is not your success, but your significance. What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught. What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example. What will matter is not your competence, but your character. What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you’re gone. What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those that love you. What will matter is how long you will be remembered by whom and for what. A life lived that matters is not of circumstance, but of choice.  ~Dying to Have Known 2006

We must take adventures in order to know where we truly belong.

Always find time for things that make you feel happy to be alive.

The things you are passionate about are not random, they are your calling.

There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to yourself. ~Ernest Hemingway

Eliminate the unnecessary.

You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy.

There is beauty in walking away.

You may think the grass is greener on the other side. But if you take the time to water your own grass, it would be just as green.

There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in. ~Leonard Cohen

Life is like a camera. Focus on what’s important. Capture the good times. Develop from the negatives and if things don’t work out, take another shot.

Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.

I just want to  make nice, be happy and get enough sleep.

I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become. ~Carl Jung

When things aren’t adding up in your life, start subtracting. ~Anon

I am happy to be me. I may not be perfect but I am honest, loving and happy. I don’t try to be what I am not and don’t try to impress anyone. I am me.

You must master a new way to think before you can master a new way to be. ~Marianne Williamson

Create a life that feels good on the inside. Not one that just looks good on the outside.

Be the type of person that you want to meet.

Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you or makes you happy.

Don’t wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect.

Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss. ~F. Scott Fitzgerald

The secret to change is to focus all your energy not on fighting the old but on building the new. ~Socrates

If you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely. ~Roald Dahl

I choose…to live by choice, not by chance; to make changes, not excuses; to be motivated, not manipulated; to be useful, not used; to excel, not compete; I choose self-esteem. not self-pity. I choose to listen to my inner voice, not the random opinions of others.

Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. ~Buddha

Forgive others not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough “Hello’s” to get you through the final “Goodbye.”

Be with people who knows your worth. You don’t need too many people to be happy, just a few real ones who appreciate who you are.

The best days are when you don’t need anything extreme or special to happen to make it great. You just appreciate and enjoy what is and that’s perfect enough.

Peace is not the absence of conflict but the ability to cope with it.

The most reliable way to predict the future is to create it. Participate in life instead of just watching it pass you by.

Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, you ought to set up a life you don’t need to escape from.  ~Seth Godin

The grief that’s for real, the big one, it comes from the recognition of the way that life is and must be. That it requires death to be able to continue because death feeds everything that lives. The recognition that that’s the case, and that it includes not you-that’s the easy part to see-but it includes the people that you love and the things you don’t want to end. That’s grief and it’s not personal. But the key, the real skill to being grateful is not to be grateful for the stuff that benefits you. That’s easy. What about being grateful for the stuff that doesn’t benefit you in the least. But you’re grateful that it’s in the world anyway.  Now you’re willing for life to be bigger that your life span or you children’s life span. Now you’re getting somewhere. Grief is not a feeling. Grief’s not how you feel, grief’s what you do. Grief is a skill. And the twin of grief as a skill of life is the skill of being able to praise, or love life. Which means wherever you find one authentically done, the other is close at hand. Grief and the praise of life, side by side. The honored guest, the room at the head of the table and they’re toasting you. Grief and the ability to love life are clinking their glasses and toasting the living. So here’s to your health. Until the time we come to get you, LIVE WELL! Everywhere you go, goodness will come. ~Griefwalker 2008

Someone told me “Just don’t worry about it”, by the end of your lifetime, you’re gonna have a blessing come to you. It might not be right now, it might be 5, 10 years later down the line. But I’m going to get my blessing, cause I always have faith.  ~Tent City USA 2013

A lot of people don’t know what the price is when they step up to the plate.

Next time you’re stressed: take a step back, inhale and laugh! Remember who you are and why you’re here. You’re never given anything in this world that you can’t handle. Be strong, be flexible, love yourself and love others. Always remember to keep moving forward.

We must travel in the direction of our fear.

It’s up to me to find out what’s is best for myself. I’m ready to be amazed.

No matter how big your house is, how recent your car is, or how big your bank account is. Our graves will always be the same size. STAY HUMBLE

In order to be, you must do. All great things start from that one adventure. That one dream. That one idea. That one step. To adventure is to find yourself whole. To adventure is to have a story at the end of all this. The places you see, the things you make and the people you meet will fuel you forever. Choose to see beauty where others see none. And strive for greatness always. We want to inspire you to do more. To be more. To feel good lost and explore always. ~16 HOURS

What do I want to surround myself with?

Choice vs Destiny  If you believe it is a world of choice, you regard your life as a product of your own decisions. If you believe in destiny, you suspect there are greater forces defining your life’s story. Even if we are each part of some great master plan, our unique journey has more personal meaning when we choose it for ourselves. You make many choices every day. Whenever possible, choose the life you want.

Let the life you live speak for you.

Every day is an opportunity to begin anew.

It’s a pretty amazing thought to open yourself up to the possibilities of what else is out there to explore and what else is out there for yourself, what else exists for you. The world is a pretty vast and amazing place and there’s a lot to explore. Living life to the fullest and really feeling what exists beyond you backyard even though you backyard could be amazing. You’re not going to know until you go explore it. And what happens if you keep going? What happens if you go to another country? We’re always on the path, always going somewhere, so we’re lucky enough to get a chance to journey right now, to journey together and be here. You gotta push yourself and go seek out the secret destinations of the journey. The ones that when you set out, you’re pretty much unaware of. But once you get into your journey, things open up and you see the possibilities, and the nooks and crannies in the landscape all opens itself up to you. You seek out change, personal change, metamorphosis in your life. I think if you try to be the change that you want to see in yourself, as you travel, you’re going to be open to a lot of magical experiences with local people with local environments. ~Reveal the Path 2012

There’s no such thing as a tiny act. The way you greet someone, the joy you experience in nature, with family, friends and strangers. It all matters. Celebrate the rest of life on earth, celebrate the air, the water, the soil and the sunlight that makes our lives possible. We are all part of a greater whole. You know, just being here is a cause for celebration. It’s a cause for grief too but grief is also a  form of joy. The rose celebrates by falling apart and the clouds celebrate by weeping. ~I AM 2010

We would do well to slow down a little, focus on the significant & truly see the things that matter most. ~Dieter F Uchtdorf

Many persons have the wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness…it is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose. ~Helen Keller

Living a life of gratitude is healing energy. ~Zen quote

The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts. ~Marcus Aurelius

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like. ~Lao Tzu

Talking about our problems is our greatest addiction. Break the habit. Talk about your JOYS! ~Zen Quote

—Jackie French Koller

The quieter you become, the more you can hear. – Baba Ram Dass

I live in the moment. You worry about yesterday or last week or 20 years ago. It’s not gonna work out too good for you. You can’t live in two places at once. You don’t have to keep living in the past. ~Buck Brannaman-Buck 2011

“It’s not about approving or liking, but just being able to allow the world to be the way it is without resenting, hating, or judging it.” ~Buddhism Now

“the mountain won’t climb itself” ~Mike Hall 1981-2017

“I no longer have patience for certain things, not because I’ve become arrogant, but simply because I reached a point in my life where I do not want to waste more time with what displeases me or hurts me. I have no patience for cynicism, excessive criticism and demands of any nature. I lost the will to please those who do not like me, to love those who do not love me and to smile at those who do not want to smile at me. I no longer spend a single minute on those who lie or want to manipulate. I decided not to coexist anymore with pretense, hypocrisy, dishonesty and cheap praise. I do not tolerate selective erudition nor academic arrogance. I do not adjust either to popular gossiping. I hate conflict and comparisons. I believe in a world of opposites and that’s why I avoid people with rigid and inflexible personalities. In friendship I dislike the lack of loyalty and betrayal. I do not get along with those who do not know how to give a compliment or a word of encouragement. Exaggerations bore me and I have difficulty accepting those who do not like animals. And on top of everything I have no patience for anyone who does not deserve my patience.” ~Jose Micard Teixeira
