Monterey Bay is a gorgeous coastal and historic California destination. It’s just a two hour drive from the San Francisco Bay Area off scenic Highway One. There’s a wide range of outdoor activities to choose from: kayaking, scuba diving, surfing, cycling, walking, whale & wildlife watching to camping and hiking and so much more.
Like to shop and dine? Go to Cannery Row, Old Fisherman’s Wharf, Old Monterey & Downtown or to the Del Monte Shopping Center and the Lighthouse District. You can even plan and spend all day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium! What is there to think about? Come on out play!
Of course, we’re here to ride! For this self-organized fixed based cycling trip, we stayed at the Monterey Fairgrounds RV Park. Try out some or all of these routes-they vary in distance and terrain. From the easy flat Recreational Trails to the scenic 17 Miles Dr in Pebble Beach and to the quiet steep challenging back roads around Carmel Valley.
