This short beautiful out & back ride heads out to China Camp Village at China Camp State Park in San Rafael. It continues on Pt San Pedro Rd to McNears Beach for a scenic stroll along the shoreline of San Pablo Bay followed by a short jaunt out to Loch Lomond Marina & Yacht Harbor at San Rafael Bay.
The short little climb into China Camp leads out to beautiful waterfront views of the marshes, wetlands and open meadows along the shores of San Pablo Bay.
The gentle rolling terrain around China Camp takes you along San Pablo Bay to Buckeye Point.
The road continues to wind around the park towards the Ranger Station to Bullhead Point.
N San Pedro Rd turns southward as it continues uphill to China Camp Village.
Enjoy the views of Rat Rock Island at Rat Rock Cove!
Turn left into China Camp Village followed by an immediate right; the road drops down into China Camp and China Camp Beach.

Climb out from China Camp and continue south on N San Pedro Rd; the road winds around the park and name changes to Pt San Pedro Rd before dropping down to Cantera Way.
Turn left on Cantera Way to McNears Beach Park. The road descends through the eucalyptus grove to the parking lot.

Exit McNears Beach back onto Pt San Pedro Rd; turn left and head SW along San Rafael Bay to Loch Lomond Marina and Yacht Harbor.
Meander around the marina and enjoy the bay views!
Turn around and reverse your way back on Pt San Pedro Rd.
Enjoy the gorgeous bay views!
Turn left onto Peacock Dr; the road goes along the residential neighborhoods around Peacock Gap Golf Club.
The road comes to an end at Peacock Gap Park; continue through the park to Biscayne Dr.
Biscayne Dr goes along the north edge of the golf club to N San Pedro Rd.
Re-enter China Camp State Park and retrace the route back into town.
Return to Lagoon Park.
This scenic out & back route avoids the high-traffic areas west of San Rafael Creek. The short ride allows ample time to stop and explore China Camp Village, McNears Beach and Loch Lomond Marina. The bay views are absolutely spectacular!
