Day 1: Begin Central Coast cycling week with a short scenic out & back ride along Alisal Creek on Alisal Rd to Nojoqui Falls Park and out on Old Coast Hwy to The Farmstead. Exit Flying Flags onto Ave of Flags in Buellton.

Exit town on Hwy 246 E through the flat valley for the short climb into Solvang. Turn onto 5th St and continue east on Oak St to Alisal Rd.

Alisal Rd stretches 7.1 miles from Solvang to the SW end at Old Coast Hwy in Goleta. The road takes you across the Santa Ynez River on flat terrain along Alisal Creek.

The  road takes you past the golfing greens at Ranch Course and the open ranch land at the Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort.

Alisal Rd becomes a single lane road as it continues along the creek before heading underneath the canopy of trees for a beautiful shaded mile long climb around the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountains.

It begins with gentle grades of 2-4% before kicking up to 7-9% to the summit at the cattle gate.

Alisal Rd travels westward as it continues in and out of the woods on rolling terrain with views of grazing cattle dotting the hillsides.

The road cuts through the gorgeous upper meadows as it drops down towards Nojoqui Falls Park.

Alisal Rd continues west through the open farmlands to the T junction at Old Coast Hwy.

Turn right onto Old Coast Hwy and head north across Nojoqui Creek to the organic farm at The Farmstead.

Stop at The FarmsteadOrganic farm and outside barn areas.
