Roll along the George Miller Trail into Crockett and cross the Zampa Memorial Bridge for a ride through Vallejo out to Columbus Pkwy and Lake Herman Rd. Return through the industrial park area of Benicia before crossing the Benicia-Martinez Bridge into Martinez.
Exit Martinez on Arnold to Glacier and Vine Hill to Alhambra Ave and Franklin Canyon.
Franklin Canyon Rd to McEwen Rd is 3.6 gentle miles along a quiet canyon through a small community with horse and cattle ranches, vineyards and residential ranch homes and farm houses.
The climb up the east side of McEwen Rd is a gentle 1.1 mile with an average grade of 4.2% followed by a steep descent onto George Miller Trail.
Turn left, the road winds around the Port Costa Reservoir down to Canyon Lake Dr at Port Costa; it’s followed by a climb to the high point at Bull Valley Staging Area.
George Miller Trail continues around the shoreline with views of Carquinez Strait.
The turn onto Pomona St takes you down through the town of Crockett towards the Carquinez Bridge.
Take the Zampa Memorial-Carquinez Bridge Trail across Carquinez Strait into Vallejo-enjoy the views of San Pablo Bay!
Exit the Carquinez Bridge Trail onto Maritime Academy Dr, turn left onto Sonoma Blvd to Magazine Dr.
Magazine Dr crosses over I-80 to the Beverly Hills neighborhood in Vallejo. The turn on Fulton Rd leads onto Glen Cove Rd; this road cuts across I-780 to the outskirts of town to Benicia Rd and Columbus Pkwy.
Head north along the fringe of Vallejo on Columbus Pkwy for the next 2.8 miles. There is a 7-9.5% half mile climb on Columbus Pkwy; it begins at Springs Rd and continues up through some residential neighborhoods before descending to Lake Herman Rd.
Lake Herman Rd extends 5.3 miles west in Vallejo to the east in Benicia; it’s a very quiet road with minimal traffic and great road conditions. The short climb takes you through Sky Valley, pass a rock quarry, old farms and ranches with views of grazing cattle dotted among the hillsides.
Continue on Lake Herman Rd; the rolling climbs takes you over I-680 to Industrial Way in Benicia.
Enjoy the fabulous views of the Mothball Fleet, Mt Diablo and Suisun Bay!
Take Industrial Way and climb up through the refinery on Park Rd to the Benicia-Martinez Bridge Trail.
Cross over Carquinez Strait on the Benicia-Martinez Bridge and return through Pacheco to Martinez on Morello Ave.
