The purpose of today’s ride is to check out the fall colors in our local area and to pick up a pound of coffee at Peet’s. We’re heading south along the tree-lined streets from Martinez to Walnut Creek, Danville and San Ramon. This lollipop loop goes around the subdivisions of Gale Ranch and Windemere Pkwy to Camino Tassajara. It’s the land of wide shoulders, smooth pavement and very nice parks with great restrooms!

Fall is my favorite time of year; I love the changing leaves, the cool crisp air and the crackling sound of dried leaves underfoot. It’s a signal for me to slow down even more and take in the bursts of color; the canopy of red, gold, yellow and orange leaves are stunning with its own particular beauty!
