Healdsburg is tucked between three rich wine growing regions in Sonoma County. It is surrounded by over 100 wineries and sits in the heart of the wine country. There’s plenty of outdoor activities to keep you occupied and if you like to stay around town, the walkable Downtown Area is the place to be.
They really knows how to keep vacationers from returning to this quaint town time and time again. The downtown area is a great place for strolling anytime, day or night. The streets are meticulously well maintained and clean with signage to direct you to the many restaurants, hotels, inns, day spas and wine tasting rooms.
Like to shop? There’s something for everyone! You’ll find boutique clothing shops for men & women, jewelry stores, art galleries, antique shops, kid’s toys & clothing stores, home & lifestyle accessories, book stores and more.
Like to graze? There’s plenty of restaurants, cafes, high-end grocery stores, coffee shops, bakeries with artisan breads, home-made ice cream and gelato!
The Plaza hold summer concerts, farmers markets and other community activities. You can sit at one of the many benches and just people watch under the towering redwoods or inside the gazebo area. I had the chance to listen to a guy play his violin-it was a perfect ending to a day!
The town provides free web access to the community through their WiFi network, it covers the downtown area between City Hall and the Police Department. Public restrooms are available throughout the downtown and plaza areas.
I also noticed 3 churches located within a one block area-St John’s, St Paul’s and Hope Chapel.
Take the time to walk along Vine and Grove St to enjoy the outdoor sculptures along the trail next to the RR tracks.
So come and relax…do something or absolutely nothing!
