Today’s route showcases the beauty of some Livermore back roads.

We start off from Lafayette and head out on Tice Valley Rd to the flats on Danville Blvd. We weave our way through Danville and San Ramon to Camino Tassajara. The turn on Highland Rd takes us on a lollipop loop around Manning, Carneal and Collier Canyon Rds. The return is a reversal of the earlier route through the city streets back to Lafayette.

This is an easy flat rolling course with ample shoulder areas on Danville Blvd, Sycamore Valley Rd and Camino Tassajara. The section out to Highland Rd from Camino Tassajara has little to no shoulder-ride with caution as traffic can be fairly heavy. The gorgeous loop out to EJ’s on Manning, Carneal and Collier Canyon is on quiet back roads with minimal to no traffic. The area is dotted with grazing cattle,  old barns, farms and ranches. Enjoy the beautiful scenery!

Thanks to everyone for joining me on this jaunt out to the country at EJ’s. Another big “THANKS” goes to everyone for the great teamwork involved when 2 of our riders got tangled in an accident that resulted in ambulance rides to the ER. Best wishes to Lois and Eddie for a healthy recovery!

  1. Nancy, It amazes me how you can make these rides seem like something new and fresh, no matter how many times you have done them. Carole

Thanks Carole! I actually never get tired of this ride-it’s quite beautiful out there! Nancy
