My monthly Friday ride up Mt Diablo is ON again! I ride off from home and meet up with the group at Heather Farm Park in Walnut Creek. Everyone seems to be in a great mood-I like to be around happy people!
We take San Carlos Dr to Walnut Ave. It’s a good flat warm up to the upcoming climb on Northgate Rd into Mount Diablo State Park.
The golden slopes of the mountain welcome us with its radient glow!
This is the beginning of the steepest section at the 1000′ sign.
The views are always fantastic on the way up to the Junction!
We continue up Summit Rd to the summit.
The panoramic views from the summit are spectacular! It’s sunny and warm with no winds-how perfect!
Thanks to everyone for joining me on a glorious summer day up Mt Diablo!
16 people in attendance
49.5 miles with 4626′ of elevation gain
Weather: GREAT! Sunny and warm with temps ranging from the mid to high 70’s
