I haven’t been able to ride for the past 10 days due to the weather and other personal issues. Today is my mental detox ride to help me clear my mind and just relax. I’m just going to ride; easy, hard, intervals, slow….whatever. I am in no hurry. Not much photos will be taken today; I’ve done this route many times, so I just want to be able to spin my legs, look around without having to stop too much. I did take a few pics along the way; a few old rusted cars on a ranch, the boats along Tomales Bay and the sculpture that I always manage to miss on the return up Lucas Valley.

The group meets up in Nicasio for a 10 AM departure. I decide to ride out from Miller Creek to add 20 miles to the total route. I see John S. and Ed W., they too are doing the extra miles. We all head out together up Lucas Valley to Nicasio. The route continues on Nicasio Valley Rd to the Cheese Factory. We turn on Hicks Valley to Marshall Petaluma Rd for the climb up “Marshall Wall”. The lunch stop is at the Marshall Store with an additional bakery stop at the Bovine at Point Reyes Station. We return through Nicasio and head back up Lucas Valley to Miller Creek.

Thanks to Joan, our fearless leader for leading today’s ride!  Another thanks goes to Wyatt for accompanying me back to the start.

~20+ people in attendance with 2 tandems

62 miles with 3424′ of elevation gain.

Weather: Great! Sunny and breezy. Starting temp of 48 and reaching a high of 55
